About the event

Although there will be periods of discussion and Q&A, the  majority of the retreat will be silent.  During the retreat, we will  gradually refine our mindfulness of experience as a preparatory practice  for entering into and abiding in the spacious, empty nature mind as  instructed by the Buddha in the Pali discourses.  The retreat will be  grounded in the Brahmaviharas of loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and  equanimity.  Mary will offer instructions, dharma talks, and  interviews.  Dharma-talk topics will include Dependent Origination,  Impermanence, Emptiness, and Abiding in Emptiness.  Each day will  include periods of sitting meditation, walking meditation, Brahmavihara  meditation, and Q&A.  Mary will teach an embodied self-metta  practice as a cornerstone for radiating the Brahmaviharas externally to  all beings.  This retreat is for experienced meditators who  have attended at least two prior seven-day residential silent meditation  retreats.
